2-Visit Rat Treatment
Professional rodent control for total peace of mind.
Service Description
A comprehensive two-part extermination process designed to identify entry points, eliminate existing infestations, and prevent future rodent activity. Our specialists provide targeted baiting, and exclusion recommendations for a pest-free home. Identifying the earliest indicators of a rodent presence is vital to protecting your property. Because rats are primarily nocturnal and highly elusive, an active infestation is usually felt, heard, or smelled long before a live animal is spotted during the daytime. 1. Droppings and Urine Droppings: A single rat can produce up to 40 droppings each night. Fresh droppings are dark, shiny, and tapered, measuring roughly 10–14mm in length—often described as the size and shape of a large raisin or olive. They are typically discovered in clusters near food sources, under appliances, or along baseboards Foul Odours: Rats urinate frequently and indiscriminately. This produces a strong, stale, ammonia-like or musky smell that quickly concentrates in confined spaces like lofts, under-stair cupboards, and behind kitchen units. Gnaw Marks: A rat's front incisors never stop growing. To keep them ground down, they must chew constantly. Look for large, ragged teeth marks on hard materials such as wooden floorboards, plastic piping, structural drywall, and electrical cables (which pose a severe fire hazard). Smear Marks: Rats have poor eyesight and navigate by friction, hugging walls and skirting boards. Over time, the natural grease and dirt on their fur leaves dark, smudged track marks along their frequent runways Shredded Nests: Breeding females gather loose materials to build nests in hidden, insulated areas. Check for piles of shredded cardboard, newspaper, insulation, and fabrics in undisturbed parts of the home Audio and Movement Signs • Noises in Voids: Because rats are excellent climbers, you will often hear scratching, scurrying, or thudding sounds inside wall cavities, under floorboards, or above ceilings, especially at night when they are most active. • Tracks: In dusty or rarely used areas like cellars or lofts, you may spot distinctive 20mm paw prints or thin drag lines left by their tails To help tailor the next steps, notify your technician • Where in the house you are noticing these signs (e.g., kitchen, loft, wall cavities)? • Have you heard noises, found droppings, or seen structural damage.
